‘You forget yourself your lordship You have no rights to allow or disallow anything I may choose to do You have in fact no claim over me whatsoever – a circumstance for which I thank the Lord on a daily basis I am neither your ward nor your dependent and I will not allow you to talk to me in that odiously overbearing fashi. Free from SmashwordsBeing a fan of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice I had to read this book I have always held the characters from PP close to my heart thinking that none could ever come close I have now been proven wrong the characters that DG Rampton bring to life in this story are strong witty and beautifully alive Artemisia being of country society is happy to live her life away from the many rules and difficulties of London life Her uncle the Duke of Wentworth has other ideas and enlists the help of Lady Lubriot Upon Lady Lubriots arrival Artemisia’s life is turned upside down Lady Lubriot’s brother Maruess of Chysm takes every opportunity to get under Artemisia skin showing her that she is far from refined and befitting London society But underneath that cool exterior Chysm hides many things amongst them his true feelings for Artemisia and a secret that could see everyone he cares for put in dangerWith a family history that makes Artemisia the gossip of London and Maruess of Chysm secrets DG Rampton has set in place a story that will have the reader engrossed right to the last page There is plenty of action to be had within the pages of this story not just a simple regency romance Artemisia is a story that I will be revisiting again the futureIf you are a lover of Jane Austen’s books or just a lover of regency in general this story will not disappoint

ArtemisiaHand to witness her shortcomings and bring them to her attention inciting her temper and leaving her flustered As she reluctantly embarks upon her first London Season a scandalous family secret and a conspiracy that stretches all the way to Napoleonic France threaten to entangle her with the one person she could happily thrott. Impeccable history beautiful detailing characters that make me hoot out loud I especially liked Lady Lubriot A nice balance of humour and romance I look forward to reading Ms Rampton's next regency
