State of Emergency Collapse #1 ✓ N might Oh And there's the matter of avoiding getting killed in a world that's uickly turned into an active war zone It's going to change Cassidy's lifeIt's going to be a major pain in the buttNew AdultYoung Adult Contemporary Romantic Adventure. If I were assigning labels I would call this book a YANA apocalyptic romance The main character's personality and the prude romance give the book a young adult vibe while the plot and characters ages target a mature audienceI loved the main storyline start to finish; however I did have a few hang ups with the delivery The book has a strong beginning but as the plot unfolds things start to feel forced The storyline does a bit of weaving that in my opinion distracted the author from thoroughly cultivating the main ideas Overall I did think State of Emergency was interesting and plan to read the next book in the seriesSpecifics props and grievancesThe MC is a 19 year old introvert named Cassie As the mother of a 19 year old socially awkward introvert I found Cassie completely genuine She hides her social insecurity behind sarcasm and humor saying ridiculous things at inappropriate times just like my daughter this delivers a bit of comic relief I still think Cassie's personality hinders a true cross over to the new adult genre but it is authenticCassie looks acts and even speaks like a teenager; the hero Chris is a 28 year old hottie ex navy seal These two are not a natural fit and the author doesn't do a great job of nurturing an emotional connection A younger hero or an older or at least mature leading lady would have gone a long way with meThere's a few interchangeable run ins with cameo characters that seemed to be thrown in there because something needed to happen I wish time had been spent acuainting us with the main bad guy Keller and why he felt alienated enough to zero in on two insignificant people in the midst of a large scale hostile takeover It's interesting if the villain is an egomaniac with a personal agenda As it is the big bad is not adeuately developed and the only notable villain is of a tool than a 3D characterA handful or so of secondary characters would have added variation it's so easy to get bored and subseuently annoyed with the main characters if there are no wingmen Aside from Keller the only other secondary character to speak of is a preteen who is completely out of place in the story I literally paused to wonder why she was written in she was distracting and pointless download â PDF, eBook or Kindle ePUB ✓ Summer Lane

This book was amazing I couldn't put it down once I started so I read it all in one sitting I loved pretty much everything about this book The pacing was great and I never once got bored There was always something happening to keep things interesting whether it was meeting strange people trying to survive or action scenes I loved it Cassidy is one of the best heroines I've read about in a while She's smart brave and compassionate Some of her thoughts had me laughing out loud all throughout the story and I found her extremely relatable Chris is just as good a hero with his soldierly ways However he has sweet moments where you really get to see how much he cares about Cassidy I loved those His determination and never flagging hope were great ualities that I really admired as well I appreciated how the author showed that they were both eual in their relationship and she had them encouraging each other the whole way It has to be one of the best relationships that I've read about in an action packed story in a long time Finally there is the plot I didn't see much of it coming if any I guessed at some things in the beginning however I didn't care I was enjoying all the many twists and turns and Chris's and Cassidy's journey My interest never wavered and something was always happening I loved itTherefore as you can see this is a very enjoyable book which I highly recommend There are instances of humor a wonderful main relationship and great action I have no complaints about this book at all except for one or two typos I saw along the way This didn't take away any of my love for the story though I was always greatly interested in what will happen next and after the ending of this I can't wait to see what happens in the seuel
