A heart wrenching new Second World War novel from Milly Adams Perfect for fans of Lily Baxter Ellie Dean and Katie FlynnBryony and Hannah are sisters but they couldn't be different and war has brought even of a rift between them Bryony is happiest where her family and loved ones are at Combe Lodge the family home and t 45This is titled Sisters at War but it's like family at war We meet a host of characters here There's the family in England and the rest of the family in Jersey Byrony Bee and Hannah are the two sisters and what a thoroughly unpleasant nasty selfish and self absorbed person Hannah is She's the one on Jersey and her story is definitely an interesting one Especially as we know the Nazi's invaded and treated the people very badlyBee is the sister in England and seems to be the main character in the novel She lives with April and is best friends with April's son Adam Throw in Eddie who she calls Uncle but who was a great friend of her father's and a handful of evacuees and you have a cauldron waiting to be stirredMilly Adams stirs it very well She tells a great story and I literally couldn't put it down I read her previous book but I think this one was even better Can't wait for her next one The reason for the loss of a half star was that at times Bee was a bit too good to be true and she irritated me slightly But that's only a small personal niggle really
